Welcome to the FastTrackTutorials Environment Art Mentorship!

Please note this mentorship is targeted toward artists who already have a basic understanding of 3D modeling, Texturing & engine software. (more information about this below)

What is the goal of this mentorship?

This mentorship program spans a duration of 6 weeks, aiming to provide you with a solid foundation necessary for pursuing a career as an environment artist. By the end of these 6 weeks, you will possess a comprehensive understanding of the workflows employed in environment art along with a compelling portfolio piece to showcase to prospective employers.

What will be included in this mentorship?

• 6 Weeks of assisted training. (pre-recorded + written(via Discord)
• Mentorship Project Assignment to complete within 6 weeks.
• One-Hour Private introduction Call.
• 30-60 minute group Q&A call each week. (length depending on amount of students)
• Dedicated Mentorship course.
• 2 Free FastTrackTutorials courses.
• Private discord server.
• Completion certificate + Job Reference.

What will this mentorship look like?

Once you enroll in this mentorship program, you will immediately gain access to the dedicated mentorship course and receive additional information on how to access the Discord server. On this server, you will find all the necessary details about assignments, Q&A sessions, and feedback videos.

We will start with booking a 1 hour private call, we will provide you with the mentorship assignment Your goal will be to complete the assignment before the end of the mentorship. Once you submit your weekly update, we will create a personalized feedback video specifically for you within 48 hours. To conclude the week, we will hold a live group Q&A call where you can join and ask any questions. If you cannot attend the call, don't worry; we will ensure to record it and make it available for later viewing.

This structure will be repeated for the following 5 weeks. Additionally, throughout these weeks, you will always have the opportunity to contact the mentor for assistance or suggestions personally.

To get the completion certificate, you must complete the project assignment to a near-final state. Along with this certificate, you will also be allowed to use the mentor's email as a reference when applying for a job.
Please note that the mentor will answer truthfully about your performance and personality when you use him as a reference.

Your Mentor
Emiel Sleegers is a Lead 3D Environment Artist and the owner of FastTrackStudio, with over 10+ years of experience in the AAA game industry. He is known for his expertise as an Environment, Prop and Material Artist, as well as his work as a tutor in the field of 3D game art.
Emiel has worked for major companies such as Playground Games (Forza Horizon 3) and Ubisoft Entertainment (The Division + DLC). In addition to his work at FastTrackStudio, Emiel also creates learning content for FastTrackTutorials and provides services to clients such as Adobe, MSI, Artstation, Shutterstock, TeamLiquid, Vertex School, and others.

Requirements and Disclaimers

• For this mentorship, we require you to already have basic knowledge of 3D modeling software like Blender, Maya, or 3DS Max, along with Substance Painter & Unreal Engine. This mentorship will not teach you the basics of this software!
• You will be required to speak Good/Fluent English. This is needed to follow along with the feedback videos & Q&A as these, along with the entire mentorship & courses, are spoken in English. A good microphone is also preferred to make communication easy.
• Mentorships are non-refundable once the mentorship has officially started. (the moment the private call starts)
• This mentorship does not guarantee that you will get a job in the game industry. we will do our very best to guide you, but at the end of the day, it will all be up to you.
• Depending on your current skill level, the end quality of your environment may vary even with the help of the mentor.
• Please note there might sometimes be a possibility that deadlines get shifted slightly (think technical difficulties, accommodating holidays, unexpected delays, etc)
